Kissed Enough Frogs? Using Dating Sites More Effectively
Have you ever wondered why all those singles on that dating site that sound so promising, and look so cute, never quite seem to be “the one”? Much like kids in candy stores, perusing all those photos of those available in your city can make it hard to keep your eyes on the prize.
Are you utilising those online dating services as well as you could be? Perhaps not if you are reading this article. All those photos of those cute singles in your area can be tempting and overwhelming. Are any of them Mr or Ms Right?
The red flags that may have gone up for someone less attractive, like listing hobbies as bone collecting, or having a goal of total world domination, or never ever working, just don’t seem that important, today.
Perhaps finding your soulmate requires a different strategy. Yep, you may well be having fun dating all those hotties, but at some point, many singles want to move on to more meaningful or committed relationships.
How are you ever going to find a single who shares your goals or core attitudes?
Relationship sites may take a little longer to sign on. These singles sites tend to ask more questions about such things as background, family life, and education. Personalities of singles may also be tested with other questionnaires.
The catch? You may have to spend a few more minutes answering questions about your aspirations, education, background, and your life experiences. These little clues about the real you then allow the programs to figure out who your perfect match may well be.
So instead of ending up with a cat hating academic, you could find yourself dating someone else who failed maths and who also aspires to open a pet refuge.
Those extra minutes that you spent answering the questions honestly (otherwise what’s the point?) could well save you a lifetime of singledom, or possibly even worse, a long time in the company of someone who is not your soulmate.
Before signing on to any singles dating site it can be a good idea to do your homework. The best dating sites are those that are well established and have high memberships (lots of singles). If you have very specific dating requirements it would also make sense to ensure that they cater to your preferences. Lastly, are they set up for your neck of the woods? (You don’t really want a long distance relationship, do you?)
